Forward:
There are times in history where all the people of the world have come together, put there differences aside, and through peaceful negotiation and planning were able solve a major problem… Wait, hold-on, sorry, I meant cause a problem. Humans are good at causing major problems - especially en masse. Herd animals, such as most humans, instinctively follow. Therefore, given the right kindling, humans are very good at creating problems.
We see ourselves to be of high intellect, yet, even those well-versed in history seem hellbent on repeating or, at best, imitating the mistakes of history.
When a collectivist activity becomes so large that it becomes self-sustaining: it grows larger, seemingly without any additional fuel; it becomes more powerful than any individual or group, or, for that matter, so powerful that it overtakes countries and society at large; one needs to step away from the spectacle in order to observe to see how it behaves and if it is similar to past movements... Does it create wealth for those that push it’s doctrine and is that wealth perpetuating and increasing with deeper belief/coercion from society? Does it consolidate power in a few? Does it cause poverty for many? Does skepticism lead to ridicule and ostracism? Does it shame non-believers? Does it claim to be the only truth? If many or most of the questions are answered in the affirmative, BEWARE!
To question it elicits distrust from most and anger and hostility from true believers because, for them, questioning is to speak the most profane and heretical words imaginable. So, one has little option but to blend observed reality, “subtle” disrespect and, perhaps, some exaggeration into what some may deem satire and others blasphemy…Enjoy!
